Gîte Features

Bedroom - Retreat to a spacious room featuring a comfortable double bed (with a modern mattress, not an old French one) and a charming beamed ceiling. The modern bathroom is conveniently connected, and a walk-in wardrobe provides ample space to accommodate even a group of Ryanair travelers. You'll find double USB charging points and English sockets near the bed, eliminating the need for an adaptor. A TV with an HDMI connection to watch films etc from your PC
Gite de la Garde Shower

Bathroom - Enjoy a modernised bathroom featuring a spacious walk-in shower, basin, and toilet. Not only is it well-equipped, but it also offers a pleasant view.

Kitchen - Prepare delicious meals in the well-appointed kitchen, which boasts ample workspace, a built-in ceramic hob, a breakfast bar, a microwave/grill, a refrigerator with an icebox, and plenty of cupboard space to store your culinary essentials.

WiFi access is available  via a 1Gb Fibre cable to the main property.

The Gîte runs entirely on electricity, benefiting from a collection of photovoltaic cells on the main house. More electricity generated than is  consumed each year, contributing to a sustainable and eco-friendly stay. See below if you have an Electric car.

Gite de la Garde Living area

Living Area - Unwind in the open-plan living area, seamlessly connected to the kitchen. Relax on the comfortable settee, gather around the coffee table, and enjoy the ambient lighting. Large bi-fold doors lead out to the patio, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience. For your entertainment, there is also a stereo loudspeaker set available to plug into your media player.

Parking - Ample parking space is available at the front of the Gîte, providing convenient and secure parking for your vehicle.

Patio - Step onto the 16 sq. M decking, featuring a unique 6ft diameter wine barrel plunge pool. Take in the breathtaking views of the Aude valley, Montagne Noire, and beyond. Adjacent to the patio, you'll find numerous olive trees. Relax on the sun loungers, cool off in the plunge pool, and savour a glass or two of local Rosé (only €10 for 5 liters!).

Plunge Pool - Designed to resemble a large wine barrel. From the pool you have excellent views overlooking the village of Ginestas and its clock tower, to the Montagne Noire and foothills of the Cevennes in the distance.

Olive Trees - The Gîte is surrounded by several olive trees, which are actively cultivated to produc olives for eating and oil.

 

Village - Just a short 2-minute walk away, you'll find the charming village awaiting your exploration, eating out, live music., boulangerie, shop, bank, pharmacy, evening food stalls and of course wine.

Walking - Simply walk down the drive, up the small hill, and embark on a day of leisurely strolls through the vineyards and along the Canal du Midi. Pack a picnic or stop at one of the numerous restaurants lining the canal for a gstronomique lunch.

 

Cycling - The area offers ample cycling routes, including the scenic towpath along the Canal du Midi. If you prefer mountain biking, we have no shortage of trails available. For cycle hire, consider Mellow Vélos rental, a reputable option.

Car Charging - Now some guests arrive with either Hybrid or full Electric cars. There is a local charging point in the village just before the Pharmacy as well as Fast chargers in Narbonne near Carrefour. Please DO NOT charge your car up from a socket in the Gîte the electricity supply will not support it. Instead I can provide you with an alternative normal power point in the pool pump room. However I do expect you to pay on an honesty for the electricity you consume when you leave.
